Macaw & Cockatoo

In the wild, most macaws eat a variety of seeds, plant material, fruits and nuts. The wild macaw’s diet tends to be high in fat, which is acceptable for a bird that spends its day flying through the rainforest, finding food, nesting and rearing chicks. Companion macaws are lucky to have a much easier life than their wild counterparts, but they miss out on the ability to forage for their food, a behavior that comes naturally. Lafeber’s bird foods are ideal for the lively macaw, a bird that appreciates the opportunity to tear apart its meals.

Food for cockatoos in the wild is a full-time job – they forage for seeds and nuts, as well as coconuts and grain crops. Like all companion parrots, cockatoos will not thrive on a birdseed diet alone. Cockatoo food definitely shouldn’t be boring to eat, either. This bird needs a varied and fun diet that includes fresh fruits and veggies. Lafeber’s diets and treats offer foraging fun and sound nutrition for your cockatoo.
