If there was one parrot that could put together their own \u201chaunted house,\u201d it would be an African grey parrot. Beyond the notoriety of being extremely intelligent birds, greys are also known to be insanely good at mimicking human speech, as well as a plethora of sounds \u2014 usually those they know will get their people\u2019s attention. If you really want to \u201ctrick\u201d someone, have them spend time unaware that an African grey is in the house. They might be reaching for a phone that isn\u2019t really ringing, answering a knock on the door or doorbell ring with no one on the doorstep, and, no, there\u2019s no food in the microwave that just finished cooking! Of course, greys and many other parrots with the gift of gab, might also try to trick people with spot-on imitations of their people or people they\u2019ve met. Will your guest fall for that \u201cHello sweetie,\u201d that sounds just like grandma is in the house?<\/p>\n
Budgies (aka Parakeets)<\/h3>\n![\"green](\"https:\/\/lafeber.com\/pet-birds\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/budgie-toy-px-4657958-300x300.jpg\")

A budgie\u2019s voice is similar in size to the bird itself \u2014 small, and it can sound quite whispery or chirpy. Some have gone so far as to describe a budgie\u2019s mimicry of human speech as \u201cslightly demonic\u201d sounding \u2014 like an old vinyl record sped up and played backwards. Hearing a budgie say, \u201cGive me a kiss\u201d \u2014 if you don\u2019t know it\u2019s coming from a small feathered being \u2014 can certainly induce goosebumps.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got it master!\u201d<\/p>\n

And these frolic-prone parrots won’t need much cajoling to get into character. A happy caique can be as giddy as a child dressed up for Halloween!<\/p>\n

One of the more interesting sounds you are likely to hear in the pet bird world is a budgie that can talk. A budgie\u2019s voice is similar in size to the bird itself \u2014 small, and it can sound quite whispery or chirpy. Some have gone so far as to describe a budgie\u2019s mimicry of human speech as \u201cslightly demonic\u201d sounding \u2014 like an old vinyl record sped up and played backwards. Hearing a budgie say, \u201cGive me a kiss\u201d \u2014 if you don\u2019t know it\u2019s coming from a small feathered being \u2014 can certainly induce goosebumps.<\/p>\n
