Norton<\/strong> earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 1986 and completed a residency in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine at the University of Florida in 1989. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Zoological Medicine in 1992. Dr. Norton has provided veterinary care for White Oak Conservation Center, Riverbanks Zoo, North Carolina State Zoo and the Wildlife Conservation Society\u2019s St. Catherines Island Wildlife Survival Center. He developed and implemented the Georgia Wildlife Health Program, which has evaluated the health of many state and federally listed species including sea turtles, alligator snapping turtles, eastern diamondback rattlesnakes, American alligators, brown pelicans, and marine mammals. Currently, he provides veterinary care for the <a href=\"http:\/\/gstc.jekyllisland.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Georgia Sea Turtle Center\/Jekyll Island Authority<\/a>, for which he is the Director and Founder. Terry also provides veterinary care for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.turtlesurvival.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Turtle Survival Alliance\u2019s Turtle Survival Center<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scistp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">St. Catherines Island Foundation programs<\/a>. He is the Vice President of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stkittsturtles.org\/www.stkittsturtles.org\/Welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\">St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network<\/a> and he is a graduate of the 2009 Institute of Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL) program. Terry is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia, University of Florida, and North Carolina State University Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Clemson University. He also has affiliations with Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Norton has published numerous articles for referred journals and book chapters, and he has worked around the world on numerous projects including Bali mynah reintroduction in Indonesia, lemur health assessments in Madagascar, and most recently sea turtle wildlife conservation efforts in Costa Rica.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Terry M.
