\"Dr.
\nDr. Laurie Hess<\/strong> is a board-certified avian specialist and owner of Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics <\/a>in Bedford Hills, New York. Dr. Hess received her DVM from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and interned at the Animal Medical Center in New York city. Dr. Hess then progressed through a residency in avian and exotic animal medicine and went on to become head of the avian and exotic pet service. Dr. Hess is a frequent speaker at both national and international veterinary educational conferences, and she has contributed to many veterinary texts and scientific literature related to exotic animal medicine. She is an associate editor of the Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery, a member of the executive board of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), and she served as the 2009-2010 President of AAV.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
