After graduation, she worked in various small animal veterinary hospitals with a focus on reptile medicine. From 2010-2014, she worked on her doctoral thesis \u201cDiagnosis and characterization of ranaviruses in reptiles and amphibians in Germany\u201d\u00a0at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. In 2012, Dr. St\u00f6hr became a certified specialist for reptile medicine (ZB Reptilien) in Germany. She has published various articles in international peer-reviewed journals, co-authored a book chapter\u00a0in &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.springer.com\/us\/book\/9783319137544\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ranaviruses: Lethal Pathogens of Ectothermic Vertebrates<\/a>&#8221; and presented her work at international conferences.
