\nCharly Pignon<\/strong> is a Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine<\/a> (Small Mammal) and a board member of Yaboumba<\/a>, a French association for continuing education in exotic and wild animals. Charly graduated in 2005 from Alfort National Veterinary School in Maisons-Alfort, France. H<\/span>is veterinary thesis was based on a wildlife conservation project in Cambodia. He then worked at the wildlife rescue center in Alfort and the Paris Zoo (la M\u00e9nagerie du Jardin des Plantes). In 2009, Charly completed an exotic animal medicine internship at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and when he returned to France he created the Exotic Medicine Service at Alfort National Veterinary School<\/a>. Dr. Pignon’s current field of research focuses on ear surgery and orthopedic surgery in small mammals, and blood transfusion in ferrets.\u00a0Dr. Pignon is also the Immediate Past President (2017-2018) of the\u00a0Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians<\/a>.<\/p>\n
