Nutri-Hay is the western timothy grass hay recommended as the primary diet for adult rabbits and guinea pigs. This high-fiber, first-cut hay promotes both healthy gut motility and dental health. It’s proudly grown pesticide-free in the Northwestern United States on a family farm.
Timothy hay is often recommended for healthy adult herbivores. First-cut hay is typically the most nutrient-dense and has the highest fiber content. It is harvested when the grass is in the mid- to late-maturity stage and is characterized by long stems with a lower proportion of leaves and seed heads. This combination provides excellent nutrition while supplying the fiber needed to support healthy gut motility and proper wear of continuously growing teeth.
Hay is an essential part of the diet for rabbits, guinea pigs, and other herbivorous pets, making up the majority of what they eat. As herbivores, their digestive systems are adapted to consume large amounts of hay. It provides nutrients, fiber, and phytoliths. The indigestible fiber supports healthy gut motility and beneficial gut microflora, while the phytoliths help wear down continuously growing teeth.
