Product Description

Many cockatiel owners are frustrated by the fact their birds will readily eat seed but look at a pellet like it is anything but edible. Who can blame them; most pellets taste like they look — bland! Your bird might ignore regular pelleted diets, but Pellet-Berries are sure to get his attention.

Pellet-Berries have a look, taste, and feel that appeals to birds. The round, berry shape offers a mix of whole cranberries, dates, apricots, and natural grains along with a heavy serving of nutritionally balanced pellets so your bird can have enriching tastes and solid nutrition, too!

These special berries are sized for your cockatiel, lovebird, conure, caique, quaker parrot, or other small bird to hold and pull apart. Your bird will savor the satisfaction of using his beak and tongue to pick apart each berrie — a more exciting way of eating than simply crumbling up a regular pellet.

My father has owned two feed stores for most of my life so I grew up learning about animal nutrition. We sell mostly to farmers and ranchers, but also carry a few small animal lines. I did a lot of research when we purchased our first bird and found this to be the most impressive line of nutrition. I started each of them on it when they were brought home. I tried weaning them from their old food, but once they tried any of the Lafeber's products they wouldn't go back to their old food and just quit eating it cold turkey. They get so excited when they see the bags.

I wanted to share my story so you could have a long and happy life with your birdies.  These are our Cockatiels Grey Bird born January 1998 and hand feed {yes 22} and Patches 15. They have been getting Zupreem pellets for the past few years which they were never really excited about and the dye in the fruit was too much so I switched them. They now get LAFEBER'S made with Non-GMO and Human-Grade Ingredients and no dyes. To keep them happy and healthy I feed them a variety of foods. They eat vegetables rice and cereals. I introduced them to LAFEBER'S Sunny Orchard Nutri-Berries and they loved them. They do not like fruit but now get it in the Nutri- berries. They liked the pellet formula after giving them the nutri-berries.   In the morning they get six LAFEBER'S Pellet-Berries {81% pellets} for Cockatiels in addition to two Nutri-Berries {30% pellets}. They are happy and excited birds in the morning since I switched to this super healthy food.

Our fussy senior cockatiel had been eating only seeds. I stupidly believed that seeds were good for him, but the vet set me straight. We had been giving him sunflower seeds for treats and he was having problems from the fat. She explained, If you ate a fist full of chocolate bars, you would enjoy it, but feel awful afterwards! She recommended the Lafeber pellets and pellet berries as a transition. He took to the pellet berries quite well. They smell so good, I am tempted to eat one myself! Although more expensive than seed, there is less waste and we are now confident that he is eating a nutritionally balanced diet. We also tried Nutri-berries, which are clearly his favorite. Than you!
