VETERINARIAN RECOMMENDED

I’m Dr. Byron de la Navarre, past president of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.

I’ve been pleased to work with the Lafeber Company, starting with Dr. Ted Lafeber Sr. and now Dr. Ted Lafeber Jr., for over 35-plus years. Great veterinarians, great company, and they provide us with great products—and have for so many years—for our exotic pets.

Starting off with their Nutri-Berries, that we know so well for birds, they now have these great Hey!Berries available for exotic guinea pigs and bunny buns. They come in natural banana and apple flavor, as well as a cilantro and red pepper variety. These are completely balanced, stimulate normal dentition—good dentition—and enrichment.

They’ve then combined these berries with hay to put together these Berrie-Bales. These Berrie-Bales, again, come with high-quality, locally grown, pesticide-free Timothy hay mixed with the berries, again stimulating good nutrition—completely balanced—for our guinea pigs and our bunny buns.

And to help us out as well, they provide us with a great source of hay—Timothy hay, again locally grown, pesticide-free. Thank you so much to the Lafeber Company for all that you do for us, for all of our exotic pets, and for allowing us to provide quality nutrition for our guinea pigs and bunny buns.

Product Description

Vitamin C supports better immunity, a healthy hair coat, wound healing, dental and joint health, and more. Guinea pigs are unique among other pets, because they can’t create it; they only get vitamin C from their food. Rabbits, chinchillas, degus, and other small pets create their own, but extra vitamin C might benefit them when sick, stressed, or recovering.

Lafeber’s Vitamin C Supplement is a western timothy hay-based treat that contains stabilized vitamin C (L-ascorbyl-2 polyphosphate) to meet the needs of your pet. This form of vitamin C is readily bioavailable and features enhanced stability for a longer shelf life.

The vitamin C, hay and other ingredients for stability and flavor are gently baked to maximize nutritional value. This means that each adorable, heart-shaped bite delivers essential vitamin C, great taste, and beneficial fiber. They’re tasty treats that pets love to eat!

Lafeber Company consults with veterinarians and nutritionists to develop its award-winning foods and treats. It began more than 50 years ago by offering the first pelleted food for pet birds, which helped save many beloved feathered family members from malnutrition. In recent years, Lafeber Company expanded its consumer products to include healthy, nutritious foods and treats for small animal pets.

From Renowned Small Animal Veterinarian Dr. Byron de la Navarre

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient that supports immunity, skin and joint health, wound healing, and more. Guinea pigs are one of the few mammals that cannot make their own vitamin C, so they need it from their diet. Other small pets, such as rabbits and chinchillas, can benefit from added vitamin C when older, sick, or stressed.
