Parakeet Nutri-Berries

Product Description

Parakeets (budgies), lovebirds, and parrotlets might be small, but they can certainly have big appetites. Unfortunately, small birds are often fed a mostly seed diet, which is not only nutritionally deficient, it deprives these adventurous eaters the variety of beak and tongue sensations vital to their behavioral needs. We created Parakeet Nutri-Berries to offer the best of both worlds — balanced nutrition in a fun-to-eat form and full of flavor.

The Lafeber difference is in the hulling. Even if a seed mix is coated with vitamin and minerals, as soon as the bird cracks the seed, the nutrition is lost along with the empty seed hull. By hulling the seeds and grains, and then coating them with stabilized vitamins, chelated minerals, and amino acids, your bird receives the balanced nutrition essential to good health in each bite. Parakeet Nutri-Berries are Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid balanced to promote healthy skin and feathers and they also include 10% pellets. Your bird will love that Parakeet Nutri-Berries serve up savory peanuts, hulled canary seed, cracked corn, and more. You’ll love that they are nutritionally balanced like a pelleted diet but, unlike pellets, small birds find the Nutri-Berrie shape and texture irresistible.

Classic Nutri-Berries are nutritionally balanced like pellets, just not ground up. Like pellets, Nutri-Berries contain seeds and grains. In pellets, however, they are ground into a fine powder and then formed into a pellet. Most of the seeds and grains in Nutri-Berries are kept whole because Dr. Lafeber discovered how to nutritionally balance them without grinding. We naturally preserve our foods and like all our foods, Parakeet Nutri-Berries are free of artificial colors, so you can feel good about offering them to your bird, either as a complete meal or as a healthy treat.

  • Exceptional high rate of birds’ acceptability compared to regular pellets
  • Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid balanced
  • Naturally preserved & flavored
  • Non-GMO formula

Outstanding product, veterinarian-approved, budgies love it. I recommend it strongly.

I have 9 parakeets. I started with organic seeds mix first but since I tried Nutri Berries, there is little mess and most importantly, all of my birds love IT! I constantly serve them in the coiled treat feeder, so they can nearly pick them and hulls rest in the dish underneath. I also serve chop and sprout seeds for the maximum health of my birds. I mix a few different kinds of Nutri Berries products in the feeder. They all love their meal!

My parakeets are super picky with their food and occasionally they’d eat nothing but millets. They’ve been doing great with Nutri berries and I wouldn’t have to worry they whole day to make sure they’re eating or not. Thank you.

  4. Lydia

Both of my parakeets love all the flavors, and my hamster gets one as a rare treat and goes crazy for it!

I received a bird from a breeder about four years ago. Within a short time, I realized the breeder sold me an ill, juvenile Lady Gouldian Finch. After talking to the vet (and a lot of money on antibiotics later), she told me to put him on these to help him gain weight. I crushed them up and he recovered in no time thanks to the medication and these nutri-berries. They saved his life! He is now a proud dad and still loves crushed up nutri-berries. Last winter, I then was given two rescue parakeets. Both were seed junkies and refused anything but the cheap seed I was given with them. These have helped me transition them over to healthier foods and they look so healthy now! I cannot speak enough praise of this company to my fellow bird parents. The only bird I own now that I have not found a good flavor for is my picky Quaker Parrot…

5 stars! My cocktail Mojo lived his beautiful and happy full life on Nutri Berries till the ripe ol’ age of 25 years old!!! Bless his soul! Now our family has a new addition a parakeet named Snow and she is just loving her Nutri Berries!! I highly recommend! Thank you for making good quality food for our feathered friends!

I have a super picky parakeet, max. I’ve spent way too much money on diff pellets, fresh food, and “balanced diet” options… just for it to be wasted. Finally gave in and spent a little more on the nutriberries, and they were a huge hit! So excited to get him off of seed! He also likes the popcorn treats! Thanks for providing balanced health for my picky baby!

I had a parakeet who lived a full, quality life with me for 16 years, on nutriberries. He passed away this year at the age of 18 at least, as a friend had him for two years before giving him to me. I’ve raised 3 parrotlets on nutriberries and everyone compliments me on how good they look. I will always feed any bird I own Lafeber bird foods.

I recently got two parakeets from our local animal rescue and started to give them Dr. Harvey’s all natural seed mix. They loved it, but I always felt like I was throwing away a LOT of seeds….which meant a lot of money. Some of it, I’m sure, was the empty hulls, but there were also a lot of seeds the birds just didn’t eat. I tried to introduce LaFeber pellets to them, but they wanted NOTHING to do with them. On a whim, I tried the Nutri-Berries one day and the birds went nuts for them! I put six in their feeding dish in the morning along with some pellets. Whenever I see their feeding dish empty, I’ll add two-four berries throughout the day. I’ve found if I give my birds too many pellets, they become toys that the birds put in their water dish. I recently ordered some of the other LaFeber Berry products to give my keets a bit of variety.
