Product Description

Happy Birthday to the food that started it all! In the early 1970s, Dr. Lafeber began experimenting with a pelleted food for birds. Initially, he made the pellets on a small mill in the rear of his animal hospital. Fifty years later, we’re proud to say that we offer a full line of Premium Daily Pellets and so much more for our feathered friends. Learn more about how we got started 50 years ago and how you can take part in the celebration!

Parrots like Amazons and African greys might have good appetites, but that doesn’t mean they always make the right food choices. They might very well choose seed and other high-fat, low-nutrient food over healthier selections. We created Lafeber’s Premium Daily Pellets to ensure your bird gets all the nutrients he needs for a full, energetic, and healthy life, with a taste he’ll find too good to pass up.

Our pellets are flavored with molasses, which enhances taste naturally and improves the acceptance of pellets when finicky “seed junkies” are converted to a healthy diet. They are perfectly sized for your parrot to crumble up and can be offered as a full meal or as an important part of your bird’s diet. Many parrot owners have found that their birds love a combination of foods along with their pellets, such as Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes, and various fruits and vegetables.

Each pellet is a high-quality blend of natural ingredients like ground non-GMO corn and soybean meal. Our grains are literally grown outside Lafeber Company’s front door. We also include whole egg, one of the most digestible forms of protein, and essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are added to the mixed grains. Lafeber’s Premium Daily Pellets are Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid balanced to give your bird a stronger immune system, stronger bones, and healthier feathers. We also naturally flavor and naturally preserve our foods, and each batch of pellets is scientifically tested for quality at an independent laboratory so you can feel good about feeding Lafeber foods to your feathered companion.

Lafeber is Good chow for fussy birds
My kids love Lafeber nutriberries the best. That is half their diet. I use the pellets to supplement their diet along with fruits and veggies. They eat Harrison pellets as well bug, but stick their beaks up when I have tried to feed other brands. The customer service and lectures are helpful as well.

Our red-lored amazon, Ruby, has been eating your pellets for over 30 years! Our African gray, Apollo, has transitioned to the pellets over the last few years. Both birds also love your nutri-berries as treats!

I have been using Lafeber Pellets as food and Lafeber Nutriberries since I acquired my Cockatoo 36 years ago. Feeding her a healthy diet is our #1 priority. She would cease eating if we started feeding her anything different. We use the Nutriberries as treats. They worked real well in her training as a young bird and we find them as a nutritious Special treat now as a mature bird.

When I first got my Amazon parrot he was eating a very unhealthy diet. He was not interested in anything but peanuts. I gradually switched him first to pellet berries and then to pellets. He now loves his pellets and he still gets pellet berries as a treat.

My severe macaw has been eating Lafeber’s parrot pellets for the main part of her diet for 32 years and is healthy and happy. She will eat those first before anything else.
