Product Description

Happy Birthday to the food that started it all! In the early 1970s, Dr. Lafeber began experimenting with a pelleted food for birds. Initially, he made the pellets on a small mill in the rear of his animal hospital. Fifty years later, we’re proud to say that we offer a full line of Premium Daily Pellets and so much more for our feathered friends. Learn more about how we got started 50 years ago and how you can take part in the celebration!

A cockatiel, like many small birds, will happily eat seed day-in and day-out if given the opportunity; unfortunately, a seed-only diet can shorten his life considerably. Seed is high in fat and lacks the nutrients needed to sustain a long, healthy life. Even seed mixes that are coated with vitamins and minerals fall short on complete nutrition, because once the bird cracks and hulls the seed these benefits are lost.

Lafeber’s Premium Daily Pellets for Cockatiels are a high-quality blend of natural ingredients like ground non-GMO corn and soybean meal. Each pellet contains all the nutrients your cockatiel, conure, quaker parrot, or lovebird needs for a full, energetic, and healthy life.

Our pellets are flavored with molasses, which enhances taste naturally and improves the acceptance of pellets when finicky “seed junkies” are converted to a healthy diet. They are perfectly sized for your cockatiel to crumble up and can be offered as a full meal or as an important part of your bird’s diet. Many cockatiel owners have found that their birds love a combination of foods along with their pellets, such as Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes, and various fruits and vegetables.

Our grains are literally grown outside Lafeber Company’s front door. We also include whole egg, one of the most digestible forms of protein, and essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids are added to the mixed grains. Lafeber’s Premium Daily Pellets are Omega 3 & 6 fatty acid balanced to give your bird a stronger immune system, stronger bones, and healthier feathers. We also naturally flavor and naturally preserve our foods, and each batch of pellets is scientifically tested for quality at an independent laboratory so you can feel good about feeding Lafeber foods to your feathered companion.

Pellets I use for my Quaker Parrot

My Quaker is eating these. I have spent a lot of money finding the pellets he would eat. My avian vet states this food is in the second tier of bird food.

You are missing out on some more customers. My dog and cat actually beg for this when I feed my bird. The cat opens the container and chows down if I’m not careful. My bird likes it too. I give the cat and dog about a teaspoon full, but they would like more. I have to guard it.

I'm honestly so happy with these! My cockatiel came to me as a seed junkie, and only had seeds for 2 years before he came in my care. I've had him for nearly 3 months now and he finally eats these pellets without me having to mix anything with them! The previous owner wasnt putting effort to convert him onto Tropican pellets and I tried myself, but he never wanted them. I gave Lafeber a try because my parents' canaries eat them so why not? It took maybe a month and now, he eats them just like he eats his chop! I'm so happy that this pellet has worked for him and will help him live a much healthier life!

My peach faced lovebird, Prince Peach, loves these pellets! He prefers them to the roudybush crumbles I had him on previously.
