Can I breed red Lory ?

Is it possible to breed red Lory with other types of Lory. Because I have a male in egypt red Lory but no female in egyp.

Answer:

Hi,

If your bird is a pet, then you should not breed it, because the bird will become wild. If you can’t find the same species, then is it best not to breed it. I can’t recommend intentionally breeding a hybrid. While some may be able to reproduce with different species, each species can have different development rates and incubation periods. Some hybrids turn out OK, but often they can be plagued with genetic health issues. And from a conservation standpoint, a hybrid can contaminate the gene pool if a hybrid is mistaken for a pure species.
