Mommy birds overfeeding baby

I just had my birds lay an egg and it hatched. So far, she has been feeding it, but i feel she does it too often. Can the momma bird overfeed the baby? I want to make sure it doesn’t possibly die from it.

Answer:

Hi,

It’s best to leave the parents lone and let them do their job. It can seem like the chicks are really stuffed, but usually it’s fine. When there is just one, they tend to feed it a lot, but again, the chick is better off with the parents.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
