Sudden death of my bulbul

I found a new born bulbul in a park and took it with me. I took care of it for about 3 weeks. It was all healthy and fine but one day I bathed it with water only and it suddenly became so sick and died within few hours. Was bathing the cause of its death?

Answer:

Hi,

Wild birds that are found, should never be kept as pets. They need specialized diets. Bathing a bird is rarely needed, and it’s not ideal to soak a bird. As for why the bird died – it may have been the diet, or it got too chilled when it got wet or there was another problem. In the future, please return a wild bird to the nest, or if that isn’t possible, find a wildlife center to take the bird and raise it to be released back to the wild.

Take care,

Brenda
