Yellow Canary

Told that I purchased a 10 month old male canary a week ago. He only tweets. I did not want a female. Should I be concerned?

Hi,

A male canary sings to attract a female. They do not usually sing year round. He is also new and needs to settle in a be comfortable in his home. That being said, all pet birds need a companion and since a canary is not usually a bird you handle, then he really needs another canary as a companion. It’s a very lonely situation for any bird to be stuck in a cage with no companion of any kind.
