Giving meds to canary

How do I give meds to my canary when I have never held him? Vet wants me to use a syringe to deliver the medication. Is there another way. I am alone and very stressed out! I’m afraid I will hurt the little guy!

I would ask your vet to show you how to do this, or find out if there is an amount you can put in his water. If the Vet says you can do this, you need to only have a small, and probably measured, amount of water and it may need to be changed 2 or 3 times a day. And the Vet would have to prescribe extra medication. Also, do not offer any fresh or moist foods when medicating a bird in the water.
