Bonded male and female doves and 2 month old babies

I allowed two eggs to develop for a friend who decided not to take the babies. All 4 have been together so far with no problems. I know this is not recommend. Please advise. And the female of the original pair keeps laying eggs on the cage bottom or the seed cup. How can I let her rest from laying eggs?? She has done this continuously.

Answer:

Hi,

Doves can do well in a flock, even with breeding. However, since your birds are related, you can’t let them breed anymore because you have no way of knowing who mated with who. As for the one who won’t stop laying, change your feeders to something she can’t sit in. If she is nesting on the cage floor, put something like a toy to block her from the area. Moving the cage can also help, if that is possible.
