PLEASE HELP. My ringneck was fine yesterday, late afternoon saw he much quieter not up to his usual self and not eating. This morning chatted few words but not busy as other mornings. He is 23 years old. He is not cage bound.

The first thought that comes to mind with a sudden illness like you’re describing is some kind of toxin. Do you have any essential oils or scented candles in the home? Also, if his cage is near the kitchen and you are using nonstick cookware it can cause sudden illness or death if it overheats. There are several household items that can be deadly to a bird. At this point, the The best advice I can give you is to get your bird to an avian veterinarian right away. If he’s in a room that you suspect have any of the items I’ve mentioned above, you need to either move him to a room that is well ventilated or take him outside until you can get him medical attention.
