2 cockatiels

I have 2 cockatiels, that i tink they are female and are handfeed.

Q1: How i know their age, the person we bought them said that are babyes, but they look like aduts(have all the feathers)

Q2:How i know their gender…. I supose that they are female… The older one is a full yellow, and her ears (the red circles, i forgot how to write them) are more orange-red that red, and the second is a full grey with a grey face.

That is all.

Answer:

Hi,

Cockatiels do not get their adult colors until they are about a year old. All young cockatiels look like females. If you check under the long wing feathers of the white bird, you may see yellow spots or markings. Only young cockatiel or adult females have these markings. If the birds go through a molt in the next few months, and the spots disappear, then the bird is a male. It sounds like the other bird is a normal grey, so it will also have the spots. However, it is easier to see the sex because after the bird has its first adult molt, the face will get more yellow if it is a male. It may take 2 years for the colors to come in completely. If it doesn’t change color in the face, it is a female. And it will still have spots under the long wing feathers.
