Breeding

My bonding pair are 5 years old now and this year have made a nest in the last 4-6 weeks but still no eggs have been payed

Answer:

Hi,

If you can please post another question and let me know what species of birds you have, I can be of more help. Depending on the species, they may or may not be old enough. You said they made a nest, but in captivity, a nest box is best for most species. They also need to be on a nutritionally balanced diet along with fresh foods. Everything has to be just right for birds to breed, and sometimes you might wait for months or longer. Four to six weeks isn’t that long.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
