Breeding

Can my make tamed ringneck parrot can mate a female tamed ringneck parrot.

Answer:

Hi,

It is more a question of will they breed? Both birds need to be at least 5 years old – 7 is probably ideal. If you want them to bond as a pair, and breed, then you have to give them up as pets. They have to be together all the time, and if they do end up bonding, it is a bond for life. And they still might not breed successfully. So you could end up with a pair of birds that can’t be handled anymore and just want to be with each other. If these birds are both tame pets, I wouldn’t recommend trying to breed them. Ringnecks are really common, and you could end up giving up pet birds without ever getting chicks.
