Breeding diamond doves

I’m new to breeding and I’ve had 3 females for about a month now and I’ve got a male that ill be getting. So my question is, will I need to put the male in a separate cage with just 1 other female, or would he be ok together with the 3 females until mating season? Thanks 🙏

Answer:

Hi,

You can try them all together, as long as there are no nests in the cage. If they will all get along, this will let the male choose a mate, and breeding is more likely to be successful. Then when it’s time to give them a nest, remove the extra females.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
