I had a male and female the other day one died we have no idea why it was fine all day but after lunch it just went to the bottom on its back and died what happened

I am sorry for your loss. There is no way to know why it died unless you take the body to a Vet for a necropsy. And sometimes the cause of death is not found. Birds can die for many, many reasons. If the surviving bird continues to be healthy, you might consider getting it a new mate in a few months, as long as both birds are about the same age.
