Cages

all you cages are stainless steel. What do you think of powder coated cages-are they safe?

Answer:

Hi Heidi,

Powder coated cages are safe. If done well, the coating is strong and will last for years. Some cages are more cheaply made, and have places where they are put together that will end up rusting eventually. If a powder coated cage gets too worn, there are places to have powder coating done – usually a place that does patio furniture will take on a project like a cage, and it can be cheaper than buying a new one. Stainless steel cages are the most expensive type, and they are a lot of maintenance to keep them looking good. So it’s a matter of what you like for your home, and what time you have to maintain the cage, but both kinds are safe.
