Clavamox

My new bird canary came in sick with sinus infection. Left nostril completely closed by mucus and right nostril has on/off wet no color discharge. Doxycycline we did 2 course(each course 12 days) and it helped to resolve half of the symptoms but we aren’t seeing further results and clavamox was suggested as next antibiotics
. What is your suggestion on dosage and if clavamox best next to go for upper respiretory issue without culture test situations?

Greatly appreciated

Answer:

Hi,

We can’t give out veterinary advice by law. No antibiotic should ever be administered without being under the care of a Veterinarian. The Vet needs to run tests to know what is wrong with the bird and how to treat it. A bird can’t be diagnosed only on symptoms. There can be a number of ailments that cause the same symptoms.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
