Indian Ringneck is acting weird

I just recently moved my birds cage into my room because of something that wasnt good for him in his cages original spot. It stressed him out so i moved him back, he’s comfortable in his cage again but i dont think he’s as comfortable with me anymore. He used to be very attached to me and i really liked that bond we had. What did i do wrong and how can i fix it?

Answer:

Hi,

Ringnecks can be skittish when they want to be. The best thing to do is be patient and give him time to settle back down. Don’t try to force him to come to you and definitely do not grab him. Parrots are prey animals so they lost trust when you grab them because it’s like a predator grabbing them. Talk to him and offer treats. He will most likely return to his usual self before too long.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
