Infertile eggs

My cockatiel laid. 11 eggs about eight months back, they all seemed to be infertile eggs so we cleaned the Nest. And shifted the place. Now it has laid 2 eggs and is incubating it, will this be ok will it hatch?

Answer:

Hi Shanthala,

When she laid 11 eggs, that is a lot. It sounds like she laid a double clutch. She may still lay more eggs this time. The first clutch usually does fail, so these might be good. But if she lays too many again and none are fertile, it could be that you have 2 females. With some of the mutations, you can’t tell the males from female without a DNA test.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
