Is there any bird-safe candles?

Before I got my parrotlet I liked burning candles, they smell nice and they boost the aesthetic of my room, but now I have Rei and I’m not sure if certain candles are bird-safe, or even if bird-safe candles exist. I thought I would ask you as you seem to have been very reliable in the past and I do not wish to try my luck with ‘Bird-safe’ candles for Amazon and the like. I understand that I should NEVER burn a candle while my parrotlet is out and I will beware of that, Is there any bird-safe candles you can recommend? A recommendation or two would be very much appreciated as I love candles so much however I love my bird much much more.

Answer:

Hi Quinn,

I have seen the bird safe candles that are advertised, but I haven’t used any, so I can’t offer a recommendation. Generally the issue with candles are scented candles and of course the risk of the flame.  I do understand being wary of a product with only their own website as a reference.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
