Lonely bird

Will a canary be okay if left alone for two days ?

Answer:

Thanks for reaching out to Ask Lafeber. Yes, a canary can usually be left alone for up to 48 hours, provided you prepare properly in advance. Make sure the bird has plenty of fresh food and, most importantly, multiple reliable sources of clean water—since dehydration is the biggest risk if something spills or runs out. Clean the cage beforehand and ensure the environment is stable, with comfortable room temperature, no drafts, and a normal day–night light cycle. While canaries are relatively independent and often tolerate short periods alone, it’s still best practice to have someone check in at least once during your absence to refresh food and water and ensure the bird appears healthy.
