My bird is not incubating her eggs

My bird gave 2 eggs in the feed bowl inspite having a nest box.
I don’t understand what to do please help as l think if l will touch them they will abandon them

Answer:

Hi Kavita,

Birds will not abandon eggs because a human touched them – this is a common myth. However, if you disturb the bird and eggs too much in the nest box, they will sometimes abandon the eggs because they feel the nest is not safe from predators. As for eggs in the food bowl, it is best to move them to the nest box. She probably will not sit on them this time, but it can encourage her to use the nest box next time.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
