Overgrown beak

Hi! I have a lovebird who’s name is Momo and is three years old and I’m worried it’s are starting to develop an overgrown beak. I don’t know it’s gender because we never got it diagnosed but we suspect it’s a boy. It is a lot more picky about food than my other lovebird and I’m worried it’s because of the beak. They both play and destroys toys and other things but Momo doesn’t destroy stuff as much as my other bird, but it could also be because of their personalities and the fact that the other one is probably a girl who wants material to build a nest. I just wanna know and if there is anything I can do

Answer:

Hi,

The best thing to do is take Momo to an avian vet. An overgrown beak can be caused by malnutrition or by certain medical issues. The Vet can diagnose the cause and trim his beak.
