Ring necked doves

I feed my parrots Lafeber but my son now has 2 ring necked doves. Does Lafeber carry food that is for doves?

I trust Lafeber avian food and would like to continue to use the brand for the doves.

Thank you for your loyalty. We do not make a diet specific to doves, but they can eat our pellets. I would recommend trying the canary or finch size, in either the original or tropical fruit. They might eat the parakeet size. But doves do need some seed. You can actually crumble our Nutri-Berries for them and they enjoy those. Doves are great pets! They also enjoy cooked brown rice with mixed veggies added. They eat all food whole, but they can definitely eat the typical mixed veggies you find in the freezer section as well as other chopped veggies. You can also offer some chopped dark leafy greens. As with your other birds, try offering foods more than once before deciding they won’t eat it. It can take many tries for them to figure out fresh foods can be eaten. If you sprinkle some seeds over fresh foods, dove tend to accidentally eat the fresh foods while trying to eat the seeds! It’s best to not clip the wings on doves since they can’t climb like a parrot. They do enjoy the small colorful toys made for small birds. They will peck at beads and pull at pieces of fabric, as well as bells.
