Severe Macaws and Wings of Compassion website?

Hi,

My longtime friend and companion Merlin, a 42+ year old severe macaw, recently passed away.

Two questions:

What is the average lifespan of severe macaws?

I was told by the veterinarian that you hosted a website called Wings of Compassion, but I cannot
find it on-line.

Can you please point me to your Wings of Compassion website?

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Chris Johnson

Answer:

Hi Chris,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Severe macaws are very special – I have had two. Both of mine died at a similar age as Merlin and it seems to be an average age. As with any living being, some live longer than others and regardless of care, sometimes it’s just their time to leave us. Merlin lived a long, good life – he would never have made it to that age without great care. Actually many of the small macaws live much shorter life spans in captivity.

I need to check about the website and will post an update here or will email you. We have been upgrading our sites and I am not sure of the plans for that one.

Take care,

Brenda
