Strange chirp

I have a female cockatiel that seems perfectly healthy, but she randomly started chirping a little squeak while yawning. She was doing it again and again and again. I paniced and i picked her up even if i knew she dosent like that and i tryed looking in her mound if she has a little rope or maybe eated some paper. I stoped, beacuze she would let me. I put her then on my shoulder and now that behavior stoped, she is actually grooming right now on my shoulder like she usually does. She is also young, she has less that a year old.

Ty!

Answer:

Hi,

They can make a variety of sounds and will also mimic sounds they hear. It was probably just a new sound for her, as long as everything else is normal with her. However, if you are concerned that she may be sick, then you should take her to an Avian Vet to be checked out.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
