Cockatiel

Got my grey Male Cockatiel a month ago. He had lovely sounds, saying peekaboo.. now almost no sound ?What should I do ?

Answer:

Hi Millie,

If he is acting normal otherwise and eating well, I wouldn’t worry too much about him. He may be molting and this can make them not feel their best. A bird vocalizes for many reasons – to get attention, to attract a mate, alarm calls when scared. Talk to him and give him attention when he talks. Make sure nothing is different around him that might be making him nervous. If he is fluffed up, not eating well and not acting himself, then you need to take him to an avian vet.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
