Hi Jon,
Yes, you definitely need to get him to eat a nutritious diet or he is going to start having major health issues. I would recommend our Nutri-Berries and Avi-Cakes. These diets are nutritionally complete, like a pellet, but they contain whole ingredients that are more like their natural diet. You may have to crumble these some to begin with. You can try removing his regular food at his bedtime and then first thing in the morning, offer him some Nutri-Berries or Avi-Cakes. Give him a couple of hours and if he hasn’t touched them, add some of the food he likes on top of the other food. It may take days or weeks since his current diet is so limited, but it is important that you keep trying or your bird will need an Avian Vet. I wouldn’t even try to offer fresh foods until he is on a better daily diet. I’ll give you the link to our feeding guide for more information.
