Does human chewed food ( chicken broccoli and pasta, represent a danger to a cockatiel (it seems to make mine more interested.

Answer:

Hi,

You should not feed your bird anything from your mouth or anything that has been in your mouth. Also do not let your bird nibble around or in your mouth. Even with the best hygiene, we still have bacteria in our mouths that aren’t harmful to us but could potentially cause an infection in your bird. A good example of the dangers or oral bacteria is cats – even a small scratch from a cat’s tooth is often deadly for a bird, even with immediate treatment. Our natural bacteria isn’t as potent, but still it is best to avoid that type of sharing with your bird.
