Lovebirds

I have a pair of lovebirds on 5 egg due any day the hen got out cage lastnight so roughly 12 hrs eggs where cold she back in sitting on them will these eggs hatch

Answer:

Hi Kenneth,

The eggs still may be good, so leave them with her and wait and see. I’ve had many bird breeders tell me that eggs can cool down once and still hatch, but not if is happens 2 or more times. Since eggs are laid every other day, the chicks hatch in the same order. Lovebird eggs take about 23 days to hatch, so do not discard them until at least 25 days from when the LAST egg was laid. The pair may naturally abandon the eggs if they fail to hatch.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
