My birds age and gender

I have a cockatiel and I don’t know his or her gender or birthday. I got him/her May 9,2020. The feathers on its head are gray still and everything else about him is pointing that it’s a girl but the breeder said it’s a boy. Any advice for my situation?

Answer:

Hi Emily,

You can email photos to [email protected] and we can let you know the gender depending on the color mutation. It sounds like a female from your description. As to the age, as I mentioned before, once the bird has the adult feathers, there is no way to determine age.

Thank you for asking Lafeber.
