I feed my lovebird Lafeber’s Nutri-berries (with papaya, pineapple, & mango) on a daily basis. [In addition he receives fresh produce, oatmeal, and almonds.] Kiwi picks apart the Nutri-berry, eating all the seeds and fruit, but leaves the pellets untouched. I’ve tried fruit-flavored pellets, but he wouldn’t eat those either. Any suggestions?

He really needs to learn to eat most or all of each berrie to get the full nutritional benefits. All of the ingredients are balanced and fortified, but still he will be missing some nutrients by ignoring the small granules. I would recommend giving him fewer at a time, and when he has eaten all of each berrie, give him some more. You can also try adding the bits to his oatmeal or make some birdie bread and add them. Did he try our new Tropical Fruit pellets? These have real fruit in them and have been very well received.
