Hello there my budgie just laid an egg a day ago

I would like to know if the female stays in the nest in the night to heat the egg…. and if I should allow her to do so.

Answer:

Hi Adrito,

The eggs need to be incubated day and night. If allowed to cool off, the eggs will stop growing. The male also helps, although the female will do most of the sitting. So yes they have to sit at night – if they are not sitting at night, the eggs will never hatch.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
