Crying Finch

My zebra finch has been separated from her mate, and he is in another cage. She has been with him for a long time, and now she starts crying if she is more than at least 6 feet away from him. Can you give me tips on how to calm her down?

Why did you have to separate her? Was he being aggressive towards her? Even if so, they can still be in cages side by side. I need to know more about why you separated her to give you good advice.
