Please help

What baby do i have from a yellow female and a turqblue male fisher saphire

Answer:

Hi Louis,

Lovebird genetics are very complicated because there are so many different color mutations. And even if your bird is visually one mutation, it could be “split to” or carrying other color mutations. So there are always going to be some surprises. There are different mutation calculators online, but even those are pretty hard to figure out how to use. I would just wait and see what you get. But keep in mind, you might not get the same colors with every clutch. The most important thing is that both birds are Fischer’s lovebirds, even though they are different mutations. Do not mix Masked, Peach Faced, or Fischer’s lovebirds or any other lovebird species – both parents should always be the same species.
