About laying eggs

My cocktail bird has layed her 1 st egg on 10th second egg on 11 th. But now its 14th she has not layed her 3rd egg yet
How many eggs will she lay. Is it only 2 or is she going to lay further???

Answer:

Hi,

The average is 4-6 eggs, but some birds only lay a couple of eggs and some a lot more. It is unusual that she laid two days in a row, and that indicates that she either had trouble laying the first egg, or the eggs are not moving through her as they should. It’s important that she has a calcium and protein supplement. A cuttle bone gives her easy to eat calcium since it is so soft. Also you can offer cooked eggs with the shell washed, crushed and cooked with the eggs. Watch her for any signs of distress – sitting fluffed with her tail pumping up and down indicates she is egg bound and needs to be taken to a Vet to try to extract the egg.
