How to clean canary cage

I was recently told by this website not to let my canaries out of their cage. If so, how do I clean their cage thoroughly? I am not at all being rude, I want to learn.

Hi Batz,

When the cage needs a deep clean, you can have a small travel cage to put the birds in. Free flying is great for them, but not if you have to chase them around to get them back in the cage.
