What should I do if my cocktail barly goes in the nst box

What should I do if my cocktail only laid 2 eggs and barly goes into her box

Answer:

Hi Dilan,

There is nothing you can do to make the birds sit on the eggs. Generally one parent sits during the day and the other sits at night. Sometimes they do not start incubating eggs until she is finished laying – she may lay up to 8 eggs. Give them plenty of privacy and hopefully they will settle down and care for the eggs. If this is the first clutch, it will probably fail. The birds are learning and sometimes it takes a couple of clutches before they figure out what to do.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
