unfertlized eggs.

Hello, I have 2 Beautiful Zebra finches. My female finch lays eggs but their unfertilized. ISs there a reason why my male Finch is not fertilizing eggs?

Answer:

Hi Irma,

There is really no way to know. He or she may be infertile, he or she may be too young and inexperienced. They may not be sitting on the eggs day and night. They may not be bonded as a pair and are not mating. All you can do is let them try again. But if the eggs keep being infertile, it is best to remove the nest to discourage any more egg laying. It’s hard on the hen to form and lay eggs, and if they aren’t going to hatch, she should be going through the strain of laying the eggs

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
