Budgie medication

What dosage of antibiotics to give a budgie amoxcilan

Answer:

Hi Wendy,

Your Avian Vet needs to prescribe any medication you give your bird and the Vet will tell you how much to give and how often. It’s dangerous to give your bird any medication unless a vet prescribes it. Anything you buy over the counter is too weak and while the bird might feel better at first, usually it will die suddenly after a few days because the medicine didn’t work. It depends on what is wrong with your bird as to what medication will work. Certain antibiotics only work on specific things. If you give the wrong antibiotic, it won’t work and the bird will die. So please discuss with your Vet, or take your bird to the Vet if you haven’t already. You will be heartbroken if you are trying to treat your bird yourself, with medicine that wasn’t prescribed for your bird and your bird dies.
