Hi,
You need to separate the male and female, IF you have a male. If they are all females, the best thing to do is discard the eggs. It’s never a good idea to have an odd number of birds in the same cage. And if you introduce breeding they get territorial and start fighting. The female that is laying eggs may attack and kill the third bird in the cage. If you want them to breed, they need to be confined to a large breeding cage with the nest box. You can’t let them roam free – they need to focus on caring for their egg and this won’t happen if there is a third bird in the picture or if they can roam around. The cage should be in a private quiet location and you can’t have a lot of contact with them – mainly feeding them. If you don’t want to breed them, then there should not be a nest box. Only breeding birds need a nest box.
Thank you for asking Lafeber,
